  1. What is Serial Port(COM)?

    You will select a Serial Port name(ex) ‘COM1’ ) that you want to log from combo box of Serial Port(COM) .

    [Commentary]
    All the Serial ports connected with PC are sure to be being displayed in the combo box now.
    If you are not able to find Serial port Name(ex) ‘COM1’) that you want to log, you will click “Refresh” button.

    [ Note ]
    Target COM(Serial Port) is not displayed in the combo box when the communication(serial) board is not correctly connected and when the cable has come off.

  2. How to Watch another HOST.

    If you want to watch Serial port of another PC, you will check this.
    And you will set IP Addr that you want to check of another PC to “IP Adress of another HOST”.

    More, You must set hardware.
    It is that connect use a shared hub between PC that works this software and PC that wants to check.
    You must not use switching hub.
    ‘Watch another HOST’ means to prepare PC besides target PC of logging, and to do logging with the PC.
    This function is useful functions when you want to do logging on old OS or besides Windows OS.

    You need not change at setting of target PC and equipment when you want to use this function.

    This function explains the execution method as follows.

    • Use of Serial Bridge

      • Serial port x2 is necessary for PC that executes logging.
      EX) Connection of Serial port.

      • Both are connected with the cross cable between between target PC and SECS Serial Logger execution PC and the equipment.

  3. How to execute SECS Message Viewer

    If you want to execute SECS Message Viewer , you will click “Execute Viewer” button.

    If this software is not executing log,, SECS Message Viewer will open a logging file.
    If this software is not executing log, SECS Message Viewer will not open none.
